This work is the result of some research done in the field in the caribbean islands and the guyanese territories. It is divided in to 3 parts: the first one treats the origins of arts and crafts in martinique. The second part thoroughly studies artistic crafts in the present days. The third part deals with painting and sculpture. But in fact, it's an introduction to arts in the caribbean. The 6th chapter draws up the perspectives for the future. We propose a theoretical philosophy of aesthetics for the caribbean and the guyanese territories. Especially because of their creativity in all fields, the maroons, namely the african slaves who ran away from the sugar plantations, particularly drew our attention throughout the study of the caribbean and the guyanese territories. The very first aesthetic conceptions in the caribbean and the guyanese territories have their origins in the time of the maroons. For this reason, we propose a philosophy of aesthetics based on the dialectic of marooning since the peoples of the new world have a new artistic and aesthetic sensitivity to express. Modern marooning is a concept with specific and universal characteristics that we created. The first meaning of marooning is the process of development of folk cultures and civilizations in the caribbean, the guyanese territories, brazil and latin america.

Ce travail de recherche est le resultat d'enquetes menees sur le terrain dans les pays de la caraibe et les guyanes. Ce travail se presente en trois parties : la premiere partie cerne les origines de l'artisanat d'art martiniquais. La deuxieme partie est l'etude approfondie de l'artisanat d'art dans le contexte actuel. La troisieme partie traite de la peinture et de la sculpture. Mais c'est en fait une introduction a l'histoire de l'art dans la caraibe. Le sixieme chapitre dresse, des perspectives d'avenir. Je propose une theorie pour une philosophie de l'esthetique pour la caraibe et les guyanes au cours de notre enquete dans les pays de la caraibe et les guyanes, les negres marrons, c'est-a-dire les anciens esclaves africains qui ont fui les structures d'habitation de canne a sucre ont particulierement retenu notre attention par leur creativite dans tous les domaines. C'est dans les structures du grand marronage que sont nes les embryons des premieres conceptions esthetiques de la caraibe et des guyanes. Pour cette raison, nous faisons des propositions pour une philosophie de l'esthetique basee sur la dialectique du marronage, car ces peuples du nouveau monde ont une nouvelle sensibilite artistique a exprimer. Le marronisme moderne est un terme que j'ai cree ayant un caractere specifique et universel. Dans son sens premier, le marronisme signifie : le processus de developpement des cultures populaires et civilisations dans les regions caraibe, guyanes, bresil et amerique latine.
