This research, one element of the history of the scientific knowledge, tries to determine the field of the notions used in historiography, and his own time. The study interrogates three significant moments of the historiography in germany in nineteenth century history shows the relations between the nature and the culture this science is based on the system (with the notions of zusammenhang and zustand) and a total weltanschauung. This research presents a genealogy of the actual idea of "total history".

Cette recherche, s'inscrivant dans le cadre de l'histoire du savoir scientifique, est un essai de determination du champ notionnel de l'histoire, de son historicite propre a partir de trois moments significatifs de la production historiographique du dix-neuvieme siecle en allemagne. L'histoire apparait comme mise en evidence des rapports entre nature et culture; elle montre une logique systemique (avec les notions de zusammenhang et de zustand) et une conception totalisante du monde. Cette recherche represente une genealogie de la notion actuelle d'histoire totale.
