Contemporary art does not content to create art works, it also explores the conditions in which the art practices display. Four registers are here studded : the intention of the artist, the conditions of the manufacturing of the objects, the conditions of their presentation, and the conditions of their preservation. To the consideration of the process is added the question of the link between the art work and documents concerning it. For this, different instruments of investigation are proposed : device, protocol, object-laboratory, object-document, "picteme", "pictosphere", and artistic notation.

L'art contemporain ne se contente pas de produire, il explore, également, les conditions dans lesquelles les pratiques se déploient. Quatre registres sont abordés : l'intention de l'artiste, les conditions de fabrication de l'objet plastique, les conditions de sa présentation, et les conditions de sa conservation. À la réflexion sur les processus s'adjoint un questionnement sur les rapports qu'entretiennent l'oeuvre et le document. Pour cela, divers instruments d'investigation sont proposés : dispositif, protocole, objet-laboratoire, objet-document, "pictème", "pictosphère", et notation plastique.
