En plus de la diversité géographique et climatique que connait le Maroc se rajoute une diversité ethnique. En effet, en plus des berbères qui sont reconnus comme la population autochtone du pays, les juifs, les arabes et les musulmans qui y sont arrivés depuis l'orient et les européens, vit au Maroc un groupe ethnique originaire des pays du sud du Sahara : il s'agit des noirs. La marginalité dont souffre ce groupe notamment en ce qui concerne l'intérêt qui lui est accordé au niveau de la recherche historique par rapport aux autres groupes, nous a poussé à lui consacrer une étude dans laquelle nous avons essayé d'établir son histoire depuis l'islamisation du Maroc jusqu'au début du dix-huitième siècle, son origine, les mobiles de son déplacement depuis les pays du sud du Sahara vers le Maroc, son devenir et les différents aspects de sa présence dans ce pays.

In a country of such a great geographic and climatic diversity as Morocco, we also encounter a remarkable ethnic diversity. In addition to the berbers - recognised as being the indigenous population of the country -, as well as the Jews, Arabs and Muslims - who arrived from the east - and the Europeans, another morocan ethnic group - originating from the countries to the south of Sahara - attracts our interest : the black Africans the marginal status this group suffers from - particularly with regards to the interest shown by historical research in comparaison wth other groups - incited us to devote a study to this population. In this research, we have attemped to establish the history of this people - from the islamisation of morrocco to the beginning of the eighteenth centry -, their origns, the reasons for their movement from the countries to the south of the Sahara to Morocco, their future and the different aspects of their presence in this country.
