Troughout the study of a spanish immigrant to mexico at the end of the xixth century, we analyse the development of his investment strategies and the multiplication of his capital; that is; an innovative conduct that leads to the construction of a modern country in the economic and social sense of the term. The study is concerned with three important aspects of the european immigration to latin america: - the causes and mechanismes of the spanish immigration - the model of success and integration of an immigrant family - the role of the prosperous immigrant in the modernisation of the mexican economy.

A travers de l'etude de cas d'un immigrant espagnol au mexique a la fin du xixeme siecle, nous analysons le developpement de ses strategies d'investissement et de multiplication de son capital, c'est-a-dire, une conduite de l'innovation qui aboutira a la construction d'un pays moderne dans le sens economique et social du terme. Il s'agit d'etudier trois aspects importants de l'immigration europeenne en amerique latine: - les causes et mecanismes de l'emigration espagnole - le modele de reussite et d'integration d'une famille d'immigrants - le role de l'immigrant prospere dans la modernisation de l'economie mexicaine.
