Recherches sur le neolithique danubien du sud de la plaine du rhin superieur et du nord de la franche-comte

The danubian neolithic of western central europe is represented by the "bandkeramik" culture and the subsequent and genetically relied cultures hinkelstein, grossgartach and roessen. This period covers the time-span 5500 - 4200 b. C. . A regional synthesis is proposed for an area including the southern half of the rhine "graben" and the north of the french historical province franche-comte. After a reapraisal of the chronological frame, the different cultures are examines under the points of view of settlement system, settlement, funera practices and communications networks as revealed by the circulation of some prestige goods. In the part concerned with early neolithic, a chapter is devoted to the non linear components with meridional affinities (limbourg and hoguette ceramics). The local evolution is then confronted with the general evolution in the danubian sphere, with particular insistance on the problem of social organisation.

Le neolithique danubien de l'ouest de l'europe centrale est represente par la culture a ceramique lineaire ("rubane") et les cultures posterieures qui lui sont liees genetiquement (hinkelstein, grossgartach, roessen). L'ensemble couvre la fourchette 5500 - 4200 av. J. -c. . Une synthese regionale est proposee pour un domaine d'etude qui comprend la moitie sud du fosse rhenan et le nord de la franche-comte. Apres un point des connaissances sur le cadre chronologique, les differentes cultures sont examinees sous l'angle du peuplement, de l'habitat, des pratiques funeraires et des reseaux de relation tels que permet de les reconstituer la circulation des matieres premieres et des objets deprestige. Pour le neolithique ancien, un chapitre est consacre aux "elements non rubanes" d'affinite meridional (ceramique du limbourg et de la hoguette). L'evolution locale est ensuite confrontee a l'evolution generale dans le domaine danubien, avec une insistance particuliere sur la question de l'organisation sociale.
