This epistemology of socialism intends to replace the thought of the french socialists, between 1830 and 1851, in the system of life sciences of its time. Indeed seeking to constitute a scientific religion to regenerate mankind, they explore the science of man to base on it a social science. Thus phrenology enables them to conceive the making of a total man which exercises the totality of its faculties in a society taking model on its organization. In the same way, ethnology delivers the principles of the " affamiliation " of human races, as the saint-simonians say. They must mix to become the integral parts of the large human body, biological and mystical revelation of the Christ's body, according to holy Paul. Their association will be then sealed in the flesh. Anthropology is thought within this framework as the matrix of a new Ark, binding the men between them to connect them to God.

Cette épistémologie du socialisme entend replacer la pensée des socialistes français, entre 1830 et 1851, dans le système des sciences de la vie de son temps. Cherchant en effet à constituer une religion scientifique pour régénérer l'humanité, ils investissent la science de l'homme pour fonder sur elle une science sociale. Ainsi la phrénologie leur permet-elle de concevoir l'émergence d'un homme total ou générique qui accomplit la totalité de ses facultés dans une société prenant modèle sur son organisme. De même, l'ethnologie délivre les principes d'une affamiliation des races, selon une expression saint-simonienne. Elles doivent se mêler pour devenir les parties intégrantes du grand corps humanitaire, manifestation biologique et mystique du corps du Christ, dit saint Paul. Leur association se trouvera alors scellée dans la chair. L'anthropologie se pense dans ce cadre comme la matrice d'une nouvelle Arche d'alliance, liant les hommes entre eux pour les relier à Dieu.
