Transcending the mere state of separation of functions, not to say of ways of thinking in order to gain a certain command of the world, urban future suffers from a widespread dislinking. The new technologies of information and communication are participating in this evil of modernity and are ampliflying it. Our thesis is about the urban future of a contemporary city in a world of networks. Starting from texts, particularly philosophical ones and from the analysis of urban and architectural projects, our thesis brings to light the paradoxical impact of virtual networks and communities: the new media, the internet, the world wide web. The global milieu and the environment in its own are under the strain of globalized networks and territories of intimacy. We are considering how other forms are conceived, passing through a machine-architecture to an environment-architecture, either as intimate environments that are liveable and transposable to a global level, or as hyper-milieus and how other interlinking conditions are thus established.
