The work presented in this document was accomplished within the framework of a purse CIFRE, i. E. A partnership between the university, a PhD Student and a company. They correspond to two projects being integrated in a common environment: The extraction of the content natural or encoded videos for their characterization. Developed in an enterprise environment, they are meant to offer concrete and innovating solutions vis-a-vis the technological and economical challenges with which the enterprise is confronted. They are presented in two parts. The first one will be dealing with the pixel-based characterization of the images according to the visual attention of an observer, for a selective reduction of information in preparation to the encoding phase. The second part will describe a method of adaptation of a video flow (transrating) in real time, by putting a modification of the flow «done on the flight » of pre-encoded videos.

Les travaux présentés dans ce document ont été accomplis dans le cadre d'une bourse CIFRE, c'est à dire d'un partenariat entre l'université, un « thèsard» et une entreprise. Ils correspondent à deux projets s'intégrant dans un environnement commun : l'extraction du contenu de vidéos, naturelles ou encodées, pour leur caractérisation. Développés en milieu entreprise, ils proposent des solutions concrètes et innovantes face aux enjeux technologiques et économiques auxquels celle-ci est confrontée. Ils se présentent en deux parties. La première s'intéressera à la caractérisation « niveau-pixel » des images en fonction de l'attention visuelle d'un observateur, en vue d'une réduction sélective de l'information en préparation à l'encodage. La seconde partie décrira une méthode d'adaptation du flux vidéo ( transrating) en temps réel, par la mise en place d'une modification du débit « à la volée » de vidéos pré-encodées
